Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for the supervision and control of civil aircraft movements within the Singapore airspace. Such work demands a high degree of alertness and composure that Controllers are a breed apart. As a Controller, you will have the opportunity to work with leading edge technology, as well as enjoy the flexibility of shift work.
Requirements
To be part of the ATC Service, you must be a Singaporean and be able to speak English fluently. You should be assertive, confident, and decisive. You should also have a high tolerance of stress, to remain composed under pressure, the ability to multi-task, and to work as a team. You should possess a degree from a recognized university, a polytechnic diploma, or a full GCE `A' Level Certificate. As part of the selection criteria, you are required to pass an aptitude test and a voice test. All successful applicants will start out as a Probationary Air Traffic Controllers (PATCOs), for a period of two years. During this period, we will provide you with the necessary training. All successful applicants are required to serve out a training bond of six years. Your starting gross salary will range from $20, 000 to $37, 000 a year (including bonus) depending on your educational qualifications.
